Announcing the 1,000 Word Herd Flash Fiction 2021 Competition Winners
After weeks of reading, discussing, and scoring, we are ready to announce the top 25 placing stories in the TL;DR Press 1,000 Word Herd Flash Fiction 2021 Competition! Check out the authors and titles of the top 25 winners who will be featured in our late July release eBook ALCHEMY: The Best of the 1,000 Word Herd Flash Fiction Competition. (and check back later for the 1st place story!)
It was a challenge picking which stories would go into our collection because the quality of the work that we received was so high. We always enjoy the lively discussions where curators pick their favourites and defend them, fighting their corners until we reach a consensus. The 1,000 Word Herd Flash Fiction 2021 Competition entries were no different, and our judges had such a tough time deciding the winners because there were so many great stories.
(We have emailed all participants as of 11 am Pacific / 2 pm Eastern / 7 pm British on June 11, 2021. Please be patient with the email system (and check your spam folder!) if you have not received your results and feedback, and feel free to email tldrpress@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.)
After much deliberation, we have decided on our winners! So, without further ado, here they are:

Congratulations to everyone who placed, and commiserations to all who didn’t win this time around. Everyone who submitted should receive an email with feedback from the judges today regardless of placement. We hope you all had fun taking part, and we hope to see many returning writers to our next project. (Check out our current call for submissions for GROWTH, our next YA speculative anthology!)
