The TL;DR Press and #tldrwriters community started as a group of writers on r/writing that shared their Twitter handles to get to know each other better. Now, we’re creating anthologies and forming a community of support, productivity, and (in the case of TL;DR Press) charity.
The #tldrwriters Slack Writing Group
What does our community offer?
A close-knit community of writers from all walks of life. Join conversations with fiction, non-fiction, short story, novel, flash fiction, and everything-in-between writers as well as poets, script writers, and people figuring out what kinds of writing they want to pursue.
Growth. We host workshops for craft and professional skill building, beta swaps to get more eyes on your work, write-ins to write together, weekly check-ins to stay accountable, and constant chats about the publishing industry, how to be a writer on social media, genre conventions, and much more.
Opportunities to volunteer. TL;DR Press, our non-profit publisher, is made possible by the writers of the community who submit their work to benefit the charities our collections fund, as well as those who volunteer their time as editors, cover artists, proofreaders, marketers, (and so much more), and those who help make the community as positive and helpful as possible.
You do not need to volunteer with TL;DR Press to become a member of the Slack group. Our goals are to support charity and emerging writers, and we’re happy to host you whether or not you’re volunteering with us.
To join, please fill out the application below. We use an application system to ensure all members of the Slack are interested in writing community/resources, and to weed out bots.
